The NewForest was among nine precious landscapes in Britain to receive £21 million in Heritage Lottery Fund money. The Hampshire bational park will receive an HLF grant of £2.9m, including £161,000 of development funding. Read more about it here in the NBN Trust Newsletter.

The other landscapes are:

• Coigach and Assynt in North West Scotland;

• Humberhead Levels of Yorkshire and Lincolnshire;

• Ingleborough Dales in the Yorkshire Dales National Park;

• North York Moors;

• Lough Neagh in Northern Ireland;

• Rusland Valley and Fells in the Lake District National Park;

• Derwent Valley in Northumberland and County Durham;

• East Wight, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty on the Isle of Wight.
