CGO Ecology has won a contract with Caledonian Conservation Ltd to provide mollusc surveys of four Sites of Special Scientific Interest (SSSIs) in Scotland.
The sites - Alvie, Cairngorms, Crathie Wood, and Eastern Cairngorms - will be surveyed during 2013, by sampling a range of locations and habitat types, to gather information on the non-marine snail, slug and bivalve faunas.
The project was commissioned by Scottish Natural Heritage (SNH), Scotland's statutory nature conservation advisory body.
CGO Ecology is part of a consortium, led by Caledonian Conservation, which will provide SNH with site condition monitoring (SCM) on a suite of SSSIs with invertebrate interest features. SCM is required on a six-yearly cycle for all SSSIs.
