We hope all of our clients, colleagues and friends have had an enjoyable Christmas and New Year break. The weather has been atrocious for most of us in the UK, and we feel for all those affected by flooding. Let's hope 2016 is the year when real action is taken to tackle the causes of flooding, not just the effects.
As we head into a new year, it's always a good time to review and take stock of the previous year. Last year (2015) was a good year for our little consultancy. As far as we can calculate, we earned 27 new clients, and continued our long-standing relationships with many others. In fact, repeat business typifies our business model.
In 2015, we worked on a huge range of projects, from wind farms to small residential developments, rail and road projects, to research and SSSI monitoring. We worked across the British Isles, from the west of Ireland to the Highlands of Scotland. The majority of our work has been on local projects near our Dorset HQ though, including some large public works such as the A338 Bournemouth Spur Road renewal by Dorset County Council.
We're still only a small business, but our turnover last year was our biggest yet. We also managed to keep on all of our permanent full-time staff through the tricky winter period, which a lot of small consultancies find difficult.
Here's to a great 2016, and we send all best wishes to all of our clients, colleagues and friends.
- Chris, Noel, Ali, Andy and all the team.
